More progress...

It's a rainy, wet, rather dull day here in Montgomery today, which is just as well because my time has been spent indoors working on the workshop rooms.

Significant progress has been made over the last few days, although there is still quite a bit of painting to be done and furniture to source it's all coming together nicely.

This is the workshop room, there are three tables in here and the plan is to get four people around each table.

Gav found this old school sign ages ago...so i thought i'd go for a 'school' theme maybe.
along with these lovely old school posters from the 1950's(ish) which i thought i'd get framed to put up in this room.

Lizzie checking things out

 Lovely bright room

This is the 'supplies room' (excuse the mess. it's going to take a month of Sundays to sort.
I procured this gorgeous haberdashery cabinet from the shop store room for use in here, it looks really good with the old Victorian painted housekeeper cabinets (i'm just about to refit the doors on the blue one).

This room will be the 'tea/coffee/cake room and general chatting/relaxing room.  I need more chairs but it's looking fairly good so far.
need new table cloths and will fill the 'very old' dresser with gorgeous things.
it has a 'Beatrix Potter' corner (I love Beatrix Potter)

Toying with the idea of displaying my collection of vintage aprons in this room too

Another acquisition from the shop, i love this enamel sign it will look perfect
on the wall in here
As will this ice cream sign
Not forgetting my 'Tina Teaspoon' creation made at the Julie Arkell workshop, Ruthin last year

Next is the corridor, still a bit of a mess and painting to be done but looking forward to putting up art work in here, i love the brightness and cleared of all the mess it's a good sized thoroughfare for the rooms.

That's it for now, i'm off to put doors on cabinets and maybe some painting.

There are still places on the three workshops at the end of this year:

you can book online at www.indigomoon.co.uk/workshops

I now have some firm dates from artists in 2016 and will soon put these up onto the website, please let me know if you wish to be added to the mailing list:  tina@indigomoon.co.uk

Getting there...

A work in progress.

I'm feeling brave enough to show you some of the rooms and work i've been doing to prepare for the workshops.   It's been a pretty hard slog so far, especially given that we've been totally revamping the Indigo Moon Shop and are still working on the extension.

The rooms have now mostly been painted and the decision made not to knock a wall down (which i'm fairly relieved about).

So.... a very brief tour...please excuse the mess!

This is a long corridor and the first thing that will be seen by visitors.
It still needs to be painted but i'll wait util all the furniture is moved into place to save
damaging new paint.

There is a bathroom just to the left and two rooms also to the left further down the corridor.  As you can see it's all very light and airy.  The room at the end of the corridor is the workshop room, with the first door on the left being a kitchen area and the other being a supplies room.

I'm still thinking about the floorboards, they're old and do look fab, so i may leave them as they are.

This is the second room down the corridor (unfortunately the other one is full of shop stock at present so i can't photograph it).  This will be the supplies room, there are two huge victorian housekeeper cabinets (the blue one has very ornate doors to be put on), there is another cupboard just out of view and i have a huge set of haberdashery draws to go in (on loan from the shop).

The table in the middle will be useful for supplies.

This is the workshop space/room at the far end of the corridor as you can see it's also very light and airy.

Some painting to do and i'm working on lighting next

Oh ....and beautiful flowers here there and everywhere.

I'm looking forward to the workshops that are coming up in September and bookings are coming in already. There is a lot going on behind the scenes.

If you'd like to book any of the workshops, pop over to the Website for details.
Please email me at tina@indigomoon.co.uk if you'd like to add your name to the mailing list for dates of workshops coming up in 2016.
